April 30:

We will hear a piece from John D. Mchugh in Iraq. He has been embedded for a few years, and is a great relayer of information from on the ground to our computer screens. A lot of his stuff, including a blog can be found at the guardian.co.uk

After that I will be talking Susan Pier, a practicing physician at Mass General, and a lecturer at Harvard Medical about the future of Universal healthcare within the U.S., particularly under this new economic climate, as well as about the swine flu hysteria, and holistic healing.

April 23:

Today, we will have Mike Rotkin from Community Studies on to discuss the developing situation, and the pressing budget issues effecting the student body.

Glenn Greenwald from Slate nails it. Why haven’t we heard more about the fabulous pulitzer winning report on the Pentagons military analysts on all of the major news networks? Because it would paint them in a negative light. here

The largest copyright violation case came to an end over in Sweden about a week ago. The owners of the pirate bay are being sentenced to jail time and heavy fines. We will discuss the issue of copyright infringement and the outcome of their trial. here

They forgot to address human rights at the summit of the americas. Whatever. No big deal…

April 16:

Amanda Terkel from ThinkProgress will be joining us. She was recently harassed by Bill O’Reilly concerning a quote she included in an article related to Bill O’s stance on a rape case. Painting O’Reilly in a negative light, he had his producer ambush her, only after following her after several hours.

We will have Judy Wilkins who is putting together events at local high schools with the engineering students who are constructing the solar powered race car at UC Berkley. She will discuss the solar power technology that is behind the building of the car, as well as the importance of alternative technology and education. Check out her website here.

The event takes place next week during Earth Week, on April 24 and April 25 at Soquel High. We will tweet the exact times.
