Agriculture and our culture: Episode 2/18/10

by Jacob Margolis on February 20, 2010

On tonights show we take a look at agriculture in and around Santa Cruz, CA.

First, Adam Bayley explains to us the history of agriculture in the area, the workers in the fields, and the money it all brings in.

Then we hear about everything from community gardens, to farming on the UCSC campus, as well as about food deserts, growing organic mushrooms in moss landing, and Tyler Wardwell asks the question, where does all of your green waste go? You will also hear from myself and Joe Morris about the ideological, environmental, and technical reasons behind raising grass fed cattle out in San Juan Bautista.

Check it out! We would also love to hear from you. Comment on the show in the section below.
