Urban gardening at UCSC flourishes

While the Santa Cruz area flourishes in agriculture, UC Santa Cruz similarly is rich in gardening and farming. Most notably the Farm located on the base of campus houses and internationally acclaimed apprenticeship program in which avid gardeners learn about organic and sustainable farming in a hands on manner.
Similarly, the Village which operates as a trial community living center focuses their daily lives around harvesting cooking and consuming the food they grow on campus.
